# Type the Bible vs Type Flash

The clearest difference is ads: Type the Bible at none against Type Flash's shown. Type the Bible also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Type Flash's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 17) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Type the Bible sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Type Flash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Type Flash holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Type Flash has 1.2K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Type the Bible's written reviews are positive against 74% of Type Flash's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Type the Bible ships an update every 17 months, Type Flash every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
