# Orchid vs DVPN

Orchid and DVPN both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of DVPN's written reviews are positive against 66% of Orchid's. Orchid's advantage is ratings volume (225 vs 15) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Orchid sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and DVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Orchid against 4.6 for DVPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orchid has 225 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of Orchid's written reviews are positive against 92% of DVPN's.

Orchid ships an update every 5 weeks, DVPN every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
