# SmartPetHome vs MettaPet

The clearest difference is rating: SmartPetHome at 4.9 against MettaPet's 1.0. SmartPetHome also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). MettaPet's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SmartPetHome holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartPetHome has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SmartPetHome ships an update every 6 weeks, MettaPet fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 11, 2026.
