# BlockSite vs AppBlock

The clearest difference is ads: BlockSite at none against AppBlock's shown. AppBlock's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlockSite sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and AppBlock sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AppBlock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6.3K and 7K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of BlockSite's written reviews are positive against 55% of AppBlock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BlockSite ships an update fortnightly, AppBlock every 6 days. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
