# ThinQ Streaming vs Smart Home

The clearest difference is rating: ThinQ Streaming at 5.0 against Smart Home's 4.2. ThinQ Streaming also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). Smart Home's advantage is ratings volume (283 vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Home sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. ThinQ Streaming asks for nothing beyond the download.

ThinQ Streaming holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Home has 283 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of ThinQ Streaming's written reviews are positive against 7% of Smart Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ThinQ Streaming ships an update every 3 months, Smart Home every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
