# uVPN vs Cable VPN

The clearest difference is ads: uVPN at none against Cable VPN's shown. Cable VPN's advantage is review sentiment (69% vs 57%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. uVPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Cable VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cable VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 201 and 726 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of uVPN's written reviews are positive against 69% of Cable VPN's.

uVPN ships an update monthly, Cable VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
