# Base Tracking vs SmartGhost

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Base Tracking at 21 against SmartGhost's 1. Base Tracking also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Base Tracking against 5.0 for SmartGhost. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Base Tracking has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 96% of Base Tracking's written reviews are positive against 100% of SmartGhost's.

Base Tracking ships an update weekly, SmartGhost fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
