# Float vs Contacts Address Book

The clearest difference is update cadence: Contacts Address Book at every 4 weeks against Float's every 6 months. Contacts Address Book also leads on ratings volume (53 vs 3). Float's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Float sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Contacts Address Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Float holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Contacts Address Book has 53 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Float's written reviews are positive against 100% of Contacts Address Book's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Float ships an update every 6 months, Contacts Address Book every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
