# KeepSolid SmartDNS vs OTTplay

The clearest difference is ads: KeepSolid SmartDNS at none against OTTplay's shown. KeepSolid SmartDNS also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). OTTplay's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KeepSolid SmartDNS sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and OTTplay sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OTTplay holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 417 and 168 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of KeepSolid SmartDNS's written reviews are positive against 52% of OTTplay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KeepSolid SmartDNS ships an update every 6 weeks, OTTplay every 11 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
