# W vs Rear Camera

The clearest difference is update cadence: Rear Camera at fortnightly against W's every 2 months. Rear Camera also leads on review sentiment (25% vs 17%). W's advantage is rating (2.1 vs 1.9) and ratings volume (54 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

W holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: W has 54 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of W's written reviews are positive against 25% of Rear Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

W ships an update every 2 months, Rear Camera fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
