# hivelighter vs TEXIAN

The clearest difference is monetization model: hivelighter at free against TEXIAN's free with in-app purchases. hivelighter also leads on ratings volume (162 vs 26). TEXIAN's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 48%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. hivelighter sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and TEXIAN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.29 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TEXIAN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: hivelighter has 162 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of hivelighter's written reviews are positive against 71% of TEXIAN's.

hivelighter ships an update every 2 months, TEXIAN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
