# TimeBloc vs Penguin Planner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Penguin Planner at 100% against TimeBloc's 42%. Penguin Planner also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3). TimeBloc's advantage is ratings volume (7.4K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeBloc sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Penguin Planner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Penguin Planner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TimeBloc has 7.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of TimeBloc's written reviews are positive against 100% of Penguin Planner's.

TimeBloc ships an update monthly, Penguin Planner fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
