# Hoofpick vs Currents

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Hoofpick at none against Currents's 3. Hoofpick also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). Currents's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Currents sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Hoofpick asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hoofpick ships an update every 7 months, Currents monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
