# Markdown Tables vs Raven

The clearest difference is price: Markdown Tables at $1.99 against Raven's $12.99. Markdown Tables also leads on ratings volume (28 vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 26.0). Raven's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Markdown Tables costs $1.99 and Raven $12.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Raven holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Markdown Tables has 28 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Markdown Tables's written reviews are positive against 75% of Raven's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Markdown Tables ships an update every 2 months, Raven every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
