# Deep Tools vs Saline

The clearest difference is rating: Saline at 5.0 against Deep Tools's 4.6. Saline also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Deep Tools's advantage is ratings volume (93 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Deep Tools sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Saline sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Saline holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Deep Tools has 93 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Deep Tools ships an update every 2 months, Saline every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
