# Microsoft Surface vs Ashampoo Mobile

The clearest difference is rating: Ashampoo Mobile at 4.3 against Microsoft Surface's 3.2. Microsoft Surface's advantage is review sentiment (26% vs 0%) and ratings volume (159 vs 15). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ashampoo Mobile holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Surface has 159 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Microsoft Surface's written reviews are positive against 0% of Ashampoo Mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Microsoft Surface ships an update every 2 months, Ashampoo Mobile every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
