# FT vs Big Day Countdown

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Big Day Countdown at 100% against FT's 25%. FT's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Big Day Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. FT asks for nothing beyond the download.

FT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of FT's written reviews are positive against 100% of Big Day Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FT ships an update every 2 days, Big Day Countdown every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
