# Ion+ Connect vs Airthings

The clearest difference is rating: Airthings at 4.4 against Ion+ Connect's 1.0. Airthings also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Ion+ Connect's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (14.0.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Airthings holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Airthings has 3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ion+ Connect ships an update every 2 months, Airthings fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
