# MusicBee Remote vs Trax Scrobbler

The clearest difference is ads: Trax Scrobbler at none against MusicBee Remote's shown. Trax Scrobbler also leads on rating (4.0 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (218 vs 42). MusicBee Remote's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 37%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MusicBee Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Trax Scrobbler sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trax Scrobbler holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trax Scrobbler has 218 ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of MusicBee Remote's written reviews are positive against 37% of Trax Scrobbler's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MusicBee Remote ships an update fortnightly, Trax Scrobbler every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
