# Halo Collar vs Dogtra PATHFINDER2

The clearest difference is monetization model: Dogtra PATHFINDER2 at free against Halo Collar's paid. Dogtra PATHFINDER2 also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.1) and device support (4 vs 1). Halo Collar's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Dogtra PATHFINDER2 holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Halo Collar has 9.6K ratings behind it against 1.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Halo Collar's written reviews are positive against 33% of Dogtra PATHFINDER2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Halo Collar ships an update every 3 weeks, Dogtra PATHFINDER2 every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
