# Dromote vs TV Control Universal Remote

The clearest difference is ads: Dromote at none against TV Control Universal Remote's shown. Dromote also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and iOS requirement (12.3 vs 16.0). TV Control Universal Remote's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (24% vs 0%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dromote sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and TV Control Universal Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dromote holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 53 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Dromote's written reviews are positive against 24% of TV Control Universal Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dromote ships an update every 5 months, TV Control Universal Remote every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
