# Readwise vs Erickson+

The clearest difference is monetization model: Readwise at free with in-app purchases against Erickson+'s subscription. Readwise also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 8) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readwise sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Erickson+ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $29.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Readwise against 4.9 for Erickson+. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readwise has 1.5K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Readwise ships an update every 2 weeks, Erickson+ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 14, 2026 respectively.
