# Paper vs Log Notebook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Log Notebook at none against Paper's 6. Log Notebook also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 72%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Paper's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paper sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Log Notebook asks for nothing beyond the download.

Log Notebook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paper has 1.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Paper's written reviews are positive against 100% of Log Notebook's.

Paper ships an update monthly, Log Notebook fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
