# Messenger for Web ++ vs WatchsApp

The clearest difference is monetization model: WatchsApp at freemium against Messenger for Web ++'s subscription. WatchsApp also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Messenger for Web ++ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and WatchsApp sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 6 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WatchsApp holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 22K and 35K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Messenger for Web ++'s written reviews are positive against 43% of WatchsApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Messenger for Web ++ ships an update fortnightly, WatchsApp every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
