# xWind vs SwitcheOn

The clearest difference is price: SwitcheOn at Free against xWind's $0.99. xWind's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On rating, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

SwitcheOn is free to download; xWind costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

xWind holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: xWind has 550 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of xWind's written reviews are positive against 80% of SwitcheOn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

xWind ships an update fortnightly, SwitcheOn every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
