# Readability vs Storypie

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Storypie at 100% against Readability's 56%. Storypie also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Readability's advantage is ratings volume (25K vs 34). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readability sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Storypie sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Storypie holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readability has 25K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 56% of Readability's written reviews are positive against 100% of Storypie's.

Readability ships an update fortnightly, Storypie every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
