# MixCam vs Parallel Camera

The clearest difference is rating: MixCam at 4.7 against Parallel Camera's 4.0. MixCam also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (6K vs 7). Parallel Camera's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MixCam sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Parallel Camera sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MixCam holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MixCam has 6K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 54% of MixCam's written reviews are positive against 33% of Parallel Camera's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
