# Parallax vs On This Day

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Parallax at 5.6K against On This Day's 1. Parallax also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On This Day's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Parallax sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and On This Day sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On This Day holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parallax has 5.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Parallax ships an update every 5 weeks, On This Day weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
