# Epson Smart Panel vs eCalendar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Epson Smart Panel at none against eCalendar's 3. Epson Smart Panel also leads on ratings volume (406K vs 21K) and chart position (#23 vs #188). eCalendar's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eCalendar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Epson Smart Panel asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Epson Smart Panel against 4.7 for eCalendar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Epson Smart Panel has 406K ratings behind it against 21K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of Epson Smart Panel's written reviews are positive against 47% of eCalendar's.

Epson Smart Panel ships an update every 6 weeks, eCalendar fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
