# General Goods vs Derek Product

The clearest difference is rating: Derek Product at 4.9 against General Goods's 3.7. Derek Product also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (61 vs 6). General Goods's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Derek Product holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Derek Product has 61 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of General Goods's written reviews are positive against 75% of Derek Product's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

General Goods ships an update every 31 months, Derek Product every 4 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
