# Drawing ▫ vs Handwriting Fontmaker

The clearest difference is rating: Drawing ▫ at 4.1 against Handwriting Fontmaker's 2.3. Drawing ▫ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (15K vs 6). Handwriting Fontmaker's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (33% vs 24%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drawing ▫ sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Handwriting Fontmaker sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Drawing ▫ holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drawing ▫ has 15K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Drawing ▫'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Handwriting Fontmaker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Drawing ▫ ships an update every 2 weeks, Handwriting Fontmaker every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
