# Plain Note vs Notes Air

Plain Note and Notes Air both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Notes Air's written reviews are positive against 62% of Plain Note's. Notes Air also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). Plain Note's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 8) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plain Note sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Notes Air sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plain Note holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plain Note has 1.1K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Plain Note's written reviews are positive against 100% of Notes Air's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Plain Note ships an update every 9 days, Notes Air every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
