# Sometime vs ScrollBank

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sometime at free with in-app purchases against ScrollBank's subscription. Sometime also leads on ratings volume (76 vs 5) and device support (3 vs 1). ScrollBank's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sometime sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ScrollBank sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScrollBank holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sometime has 76 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sometime ships an update every 2 months, ScrollBank every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
