# LetMeSpeak vs Onset

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Onset at none against LetMeSpeak's 8. Onset also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 68%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). LetMeSpeak's advantage is ratings volume (19K vs 21) and update cadence (every 11 days vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LetMeSpeak sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Onset asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for LetMeSpeak against 4.8 for Onset. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LetMeSpeak has 19K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 68% of LetMeSpeak's written reviews are positive against 100% of Onset's.

LetMeSpeak ships an update every 11 days, Onset monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
