# Avantis MixPad vs Smart Assist

The clearest difference is rating: Avantis MixPad at 3.4 against Smart Assist's 2.9. Smart Assist's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 16 months) and review sentiment (39% vs 30%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Avantis MixPad holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 38 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Avantis MixPad's written reviews are positive against 39% of Smart Assist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
