# SMS & Email vs SMS Proxy

The clearest difference is rating: SMS & Email at 4.9 against SMS Proxy's 3.7. SMS Proxy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS & Email sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and SMS Proxy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS & Email holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 10 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of SMS & Email's written reviews are positive against 20% of SMS Proxy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMS & Email ships an update monthly, SMS Proxy every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
