# UrbanflixTV vs Hooked TV

The clearest difference is rating: Hooked TV at 4.8 against UrbanflixTV's 4.1. Hooked TV also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 587) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). UrbanflixTV's advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 37%) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UrbanflixTV sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Hooked TV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hooked TV holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked TV has 12K ratings behind it against 587, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of UrbanflixTV's written reviews are positive against 37% of Hooked TV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UrbanflixTV ships an update every 5 weeks, Hooked TV every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
