# CMG Chat vs Lynck

The clearest difference is ads: CMG Chat at none against Lynck's shown. CMG Chat also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and device support (3 vs 1). Lynck's advantage is rating (3.4 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lynck holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 48 and 79 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of CMG Chat's written reviews are positive against 24% of Lynck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CMG Chat ships an update every 3 months, Lynck every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
