# e vs Rock & Crystal Identifier

The clearest difference is rating: Rock & Crystal Identifier at 4.6 against e's 3.0. Rock & Crystal Identifier also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.8K vs 2). e's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. e sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $22.99 per 3 months and Rock & Crystal Identifier sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Rock & Crystal Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rock & Crystal Identifier has 2.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of e's written reviews are positive against 44% of Rock & Crystal Identifier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

e ships an update every 2 months, Rock & Crystal Identifier every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
