# e vs Stone Identifier

The clearest difference is review sentiment: e at 67% against Stone Identifier's 10%. Stone Identifier's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. e sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $22.99 per 3 months. Stone Identifier asks for nothing beyond the download.

Stone Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stone Identifier has 308 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of e's written reviews are positive against 10% of Stone Identifier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

e ships an update every 2 months, Stone Identifier every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
