# Book Tracker vs SpiceRack

The clearest difference is price: Book Tracker at Free against SpiceRack's $1.99. Book Tracker also leads on rating (4.9 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (733 vs 1). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Book Tracker is free to download; SpiceRack costs $1.99 up front. Book Tracker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and SpiceRack sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Book Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Book Tracker has 733 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Book Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of SpiceRack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Book Tracker ships an update every 5 weeks, SpiceRack every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
