# Spectrolite vs Granular Synthesizer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Spectrolite at 83% against Granular Synthesizer's 17%. Granular Synthesizer's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spectrolite sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Granular Synthesizer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spectrolite ships an update every 8 months, Granular Synthesizer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
