# Arm Care vs AthXcel

The clearest difference is monetization model: AthXcel at free with in-app purchases against Arm Care's subscription. AthXcel also leads on review sentiment (87% vs 74%). Arm Care's advantage is ratings volume (3K vs 20) and chart position (#140 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Arm Care sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and AthXcel sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Arm Care holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Arm Care has 3K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Arm Care's written reviews are positive against 87% of AthXcel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
