# ScanMe vs Scanner App

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scanner App at free with in-app purchases against ScanMe's subscription. Scanner App also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 59%) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). ScanMe's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanMe sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scanner App sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanner App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 184 and 200 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of ScanMe's written reviews are positive against 77% of Scanner App's.

ScanMe ships an update every 3 weeks, Scanner App every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
