# HDR Plus+ vs HDR Effect Camera

The clearest difference is rating: HDR Plus+ at 3.9 against HDR Effect Camera's 2.4. HDR Plus+ also leads on ratings volume (142 vs 5) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). HDR Effect Camera's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (40% vs 20%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HDR Plus+ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. HDR Effect Camera asks for nothing beyond the download.

HDR Plus+ holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HDR Plus+ has 142 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of HDR Plus+'s written reviews are positive against 40% of HDR Effect Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HDR Plus+ ships an update every 6 weeks, HDR Effect Camera every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
