# Hive Social vs Scene

The clearest difference is rating: Scene at 5.0 against Hive Social's 3.3. Hive Social's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 12) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hive Social sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Scene sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scene holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hive Social has 2.1K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
