# TLC Academy vs Past Code

The clearest difference is rating: Past Code at 4.0 against TLC Academy's 3.6. Past Code also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). TLC Academy's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 4) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Past Code holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TLC Academy has 20 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.

TLC Academy ships an update fortnightly, Past Code every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
