# Music vs YMGuide

The clearest difference is rating: YMGuide at 5.0 against Music's 4.1. YMGuide also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.5). Music's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Music sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and YMGuide sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

YMGuide holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Music ships an update every 3 weeks, YMGuide every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
