# App Lock™ vs Password Manager ⊙

The clearest difference is monetization model: Password Manager ⊙ at free with in-app purchases against App Lock™'s subscription. Password Manager ⊙ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). App Lock™'s advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (2.6K vs 92). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock™ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Password Manager ⊙ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock™ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock™ has 2.6K ratings behind it against 92, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of App Lock™'s written reviews are positive against 25% of Password Manager ⊙'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

App Lock™ ships an update every 5 weeks, Password Manager ⊙ monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
