# Phoenix Theatres vs Really AR

The clearest difference is rating: Phoenix Theatres at 4.8 against Really AR's 4.2. Phoenix Theatres also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Really AR's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 19 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Phoenix Theatres holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Phoenix Theatres has 1.5K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Phoenix Theatres's written reviews are positive against 50% of Really AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Phoenix Theatres ships an update every 19 months, Really AR every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
